Landmarks Illinois - People Saving Places -

Landmarks Illinois is a membership-based nonprofit organization serving the people of Illinois. We inspire and empower stakeholders to save places that matter to them by providing free guidance, practical and financial resources and access to strategic partnerships. Each year, we answer thousands of calls and emails from advocates, property owners and local and state agencies.

Illinois Association of Museums It is the mission of Illinois Association of Museums to provide advocacy, promote best practices, and foster the exchange of ideas for the Illinois museum community.

Illinois Arts Council Agency-

The Illinois Arts Council Agency serves the people of Illinois through a variety of grants and services, primarily geared to:

  • Support Illinois' Arts Sector: Operating and technical support provided to organizations and programs statewide helps keep Illinois’ arts sector vital, vibrant, and accessible to all.
  • Advance Arts Education: The arts can be a part of the education of every single child in this state through the programs, services, partnerships, and collaborations of the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
  • Foster Creativity and Working Artists: Resources, opportunities, and direct support for the work of individual artists -- the foundation of Illinois' creative environment.

Illinois Humanities -

Illinois Humanities works to build dialogue across all sectors of society to examine issues important to democracy in the focus areas of public policy, media & journalism, economy, and art. Using the humanities as a tool to stimulate discussion, we create experiences across Illinois through programming, events, and grantmaking to engage a diverse public on ideas and issues that matter.

The presentation will specifically highlight the Museum on Mainstreet Program and the Road Scholars Speakers Bureau as well as other programs offered by Illinois Humanities.

  • Museum on Mainstreet - a partnership between Illinois Humanities and the Smithsonian Institution that brings compelling traveling exhibitions to communities with populations fewer than 25,000 throughout Illinois. It gives Illinoisans opportunities to experience Smithsonian-produced exhibitions in their own communities and also enables the local cultural organizations that host these exhibitions to enhance their capacities in a variety of ways.
  • Road Scholars Speakers Bureau- Since 1997, our Road Scholars Speakers Bureau has invited Illinois writers, storytellers, historians, folklorists, musicians, and living history actors, among others, to share their expertise and enthusiasm with people throughout our state. It also enables local nonprofit organizations: including libraries, museums, arts councils, historical societies, civic groups, and many others to present free admission cultural programs of high quality to their communities for a modest fee.
